Hanford is a city in Central California that sneaks up on you. There you are, cutting across the state from Fresno over to the coast and boom...where the heck did Hanford come from? That's how I found it. So, I drove around town a bit to take some photos like I do, and there was the China Alley Historic District. A very cool and interesting slice of history of the Chinese community that thrived in Hanford decades ago. There is only a block or two remaining, and in recent years the district suffered a fire that destroyed a good portion of one of the main buildings.
